
Quarry Supervisor - Yarra Valley
Dandy Premix Quarries is seeking an experienced and reliable Quarry Supervisor to join their team at Yarra Valley.
Located at the base of Mt Toolebewong, Yarra Valley Quarries (YVQ) is a long established hard rock (Hornfels) quarry producing concrete aggregates to the Dandy Premix concrete plants, as well as a range of VicRoads approved crushed rock products supplied to the Yarra Ranges Shire Council for local road works.
Duties include, but not limited to:
- Responsible for Safety Performance of employees and subcontractors in conjunction with Legislative Requirements and the Mine Safety Management Plan
- Responsible for meeting and achieving production targets
- Responsible for Quality Control in conjunction with Client’s requirements and the site-specific Quarry Management Plan
- Responsible for Environmental Management and conformance in conjunction with Legislative requirements and the site-specific Environmental management plan
- Responsible for Continuous improvement
- Responsible for Co-ordinating Trucks Drivers, Product Deliveries and associated Tasks
- Responsible for Quarry development and ongoing production plans for the Quarry
- Hazard identification through active completion of the risk assessment process
Required skills and experience:
- Ability to carry out work as instructed by Quarry Manager
- Excellent communication and organization skills
- Current driver’s license. Preferably HR or HC
- Strong Management & Leadership Skills
- Knowledge & Experience in Continuous Improvement strategies
- Knowledge & Experience with Fixed & Mobile Crushing Plants
- Knowledge & Experience with Earthmoving / Quarry Machinery
- Knowledge & Experience managing production costs versus budget
- Good communication skills
- Various plant experience including front end loader and excavator
- Enthusiastic team member
- Adaptability
